摘要:

In this talk we will concentrate on the interaction between optimal transportation and nonlinear elliptic partial differential equations. After a brief introduction to the basic theory, we will describe the two fundamental conditions of co-dimension one matrix convexity and domain convexity with respect to cost functions and their application to regularity and convexity theory. We will then describe the recent extensions of cost functions to generating functions and the ensuing applications in optics and other areas.

 

主讲人简介:

Neil Trudinger,国际著名数学家,1978年当选澳大利亚科学院院士,1997年当选英国皇家科学院院士。曾获澳大利亚数学会奖(第一位获奖者)、Hannan奖章、美国数学会Leroy P. Steele 奖。曾担任澳大利亚国立大学数学科学学院院长、数学分析及其应用中心主任等。他与 D. Gilbarg的合著《Elliptic Partial Differential Equations of Second Order》已成为经典,Google学术显示该书至今被引用二万二千余次。
